Charter Fishing
Experience is everything and Jim Bradley is ahead of the game.
Jim Bradley is
sponsored by fishing product companies to test their equipment, in addition
guides for the companies clients when they visit Florida. Some companies Bradley
has endorsed are Penn Reel, the number one selling reel in the country,
Cotee
Jig, Mercury Outboards for 15 years and Florida Sportsman. Captain Jim
Bradley's picture can be seen in all saltwater fishing magazines. Jim and Mark
Sosin, the famous saltwater fishing writer along with other professionals are in
a Berkley Trilene Big Game fishing line advertisement.
In addition, about 30 years ago, Captain Jim hosted a television fishing show in Tampa called "Ask the Expert."
Bradley born and raised in Indian Rocks Beach Florida, and has owned a guiding license for 30 years and fishing much longer than that. Jim began as a mate at age 11 and by the time he was 16 Jim ran his own boat and one of 20 years for a company.
"If
I couldn't fish I don't know what I would do," Bradley said.
Living on the Weeki Wachee River makes for a perfect set-up for his business, as it takes just 15 minutes to get into the Gulf of Mexico. Jim, along with his son Brad own three boats, of different sizes that are capable of covering a wide range of fishing possibilities in the Gulf of Mexico. His son Brad Bradley operates a professional charter fishing service of his own in which he travels into the Gulf in search of many fish species just off the Hernando County Florida coast.
Jim started his charter service when he moved to Hernando County from St. Petersburg sixteen-years-ago. Bradley is strictly a saltwater fisherman. Freshwater fishing has never really appealed to him, even though he has an 11 pound largemouth bass on his wall. Trout and Grouper fishing are what Captain Jim likes to catch the most. Jim is a strong advocate of catch and release for fisherman. He stresses water management (no Waste) and feels this very important for future generations.
